Notices & outages ...NETWORK OUTAGE AT TALLAHASSEE AND MOBILE WFOS CONTINUES...

NWS is reporting a problem affecting NCO and radar. Some data may be missing, delayed or slow until it is fixed.

The message says NWS is actively working the issue, so this is a live situation rather than a closed one.

NCO is NWS Central Operations, which runs the computing behind the forecast models and radar is the NEXRAD weather radar network.

For most people this is invisible — forecasts keep coming. It matters most to anyone pulling NWS data directly, and to forecasters who lean on the affected feed.

...NETWORK OUTAGE AT TALLAHASSEE AND MOBILE WFOS CONTINUES...

Network comms at WFO TAE (Tallahassee, FL) and WFO MOB (Mobile,
AL) have been down since 0555Z on Saturday, Oct 3 due to a
higher-level network outage. Neighboring offices continue to
provide full service backup. External dissemination of radar data
from sites KEOX, KEVX, KMOB and, KTLH is down due to the loss of
connectivity at the offices.

The latest update provided to NCO by the network vendor indicates
that technicians remain engaged in investigation and repair work.
There is currently no Estimated Time of Restoration (ETR).
