Interactive imagery loads separately. Missing radar does not remove warnings or imply clear weather.

Alert outlines: NOAA/NWS; cell points/observed segments: IEM/NEXRAD. A warning polygon is not a tornado footprint.

Lightning activity — GOES GLM

NOHRSC footprint times are metadata; pixel analysis time is not independently verified. Snow-depth pixels have previously differed from the footprint time. This is modeled/assimilated snow analysis, not a measurement at a place. Unshaded and no-data areas do not establish zero snow.

High Wind Warning issued October 15 at 11:56PM MDT until October 17 at 12:00AM MDT by NWS Midland/Odessa TX

    * WHAT...Northeast winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
expected, especially through Guadalupe Pass. For the Freeze Watch,
sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 possible.

    * WHERE...Guadalupe Mountains of west Texas and Southeast New Mexico,
    especially Guadalupe Pass.

    * WHEN...For the High Wind Warning, until midnight MDT /1 AM CDT/
Friday Night. For the Freeze Watch, from late Friday night through
    Saturday morning.

    * IMPACTS...Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile
vehicles like campers, vans, and tractor trailers. Frost and freeze
conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and
    possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing.
Winds will be particularly hazardous at higher elevations where the
strongest winds are likely to occur. Be especially careful driving in
these mountainous areas. People driving high-profile vehicles should
strongly consider postponing travel in these areas until the winds
    subside.

Delay travel through Guadalupe Pass or find another route, if
    possible.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
