NWS’s polygons as issued, or the zones a zone-issued alert names; SPC’s watches by their counties. Checked . Data: NOAA/NWS, NOAA/SPC.
Interactive imagery loads separately. Missing radar does not remove warnings or imply clear weather.
Alert outlines: NOAA/NWS; cell points/observed segments: IEM/NEXRAD. A warning polygon is not a tornado footprint.
Total lightning, including in-cloud activity. Not ground-strike locations or a safe-to-go-outside signal.
Cached lightning observations have not loaded. An empty map is not zero lightning.
Source-rendered snow depth and snow water equivalent for the lower 48. History changes this snow picture only; warnings and radar keep their own clocks.
Stored snow depth · footprint valid 2026-10-16 18:00:00 UTC, picture retrieved 2026-10-17 03:08:05.170 UTC.
No NOHRSC picture displayed on the interactive map.

NOHRSC footprint times are metadata; pixel analysis time is not independently verified. Snow-depth pixels have previously differed from the footprint time. This is modeled/assimilated snow analysis, not a measurement at a place. Unshaded and no-data areas do not establish zero snow.
Collector checked not reported; feed generated not reported. Zero cells does not establish coverage or clear weather. Observations from different radars are not merged.

Red Flag Warning
This is retained evidence, not current protective-action guidance. Segment cancellation does not establish that every part of the warning ended.
The polygon is a warned area, not a tornado footprint. NWS detection tags are independent of radar algorithms and reports.
Red Flag Warning issued October 16 at 12:14PM CDT until October 17 at 8:00PM CDT by NWS Lake Charles LA
...RED FLAG WARNING FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHEAST TEXAS AND CENTRAL AND SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA FRIDAY AND SATURDAY... .Breezy and dry conditions due to a frontal passage will combine with very dry fuels resulting in a period of high fire danger. Red flag conditions will develop across portions of central and southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas Friday afternoon and evening, before winds decrease and humidity recovers some overnight. Red flag conditions will then be expected again across all of central and southwest Louisiana and southeast Texas during the day Saturday. The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Red Flag Warning for high winds and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 9 AM to 8 PM CDT Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 031 Allen, Fire Weather Zone 032 Evangeline, Fire Weather Zone 033 St. Landry, Fire Weather Zone 044 Lafayette, Fire Weather Zone 045 Upper St. Martin, Fire Weather Zone 055 Lower St. Martin, Fire Weather Zone 073 West Cameron, Fire Weather Zone 074 East Cameron, Fire Weather Zone 141 Northern Calcasieu, Fire Weather Zone 142 Northern Jefferson Davis, Fire Weather Zone 143 Northern Acadia, Fire Weather Zone 152 Upper Vermilion, Fire Weather Zone 153 Upper Iberia, Fire Weather Zone 154 Upper St. Mary, Fire Weather Zone 201 Hardin, Fire Weather Zone 241 Southern Calcasieu, Fire Weather Zone 242 Southern Jefferson Davis, Fire Weather Zone 243 Southern Acadia, Fire Weather Zone 252 Lower Vermilion, Fire Weather Zone 253 Lower Iberia, Fire Weather Zone 254 Lower St. Mary, Fire Weather Zone 261 Southern Jasper, Fire Weather Zone 262 Southern Newton, Fire Weather Zone 515 Upper Jefferson, Fire Weather Zone 516 Northern Orange, Fire Weather Zone 615 Lower Jefferson and Fire Weather Zone 616 Southern Orange. * TIMING...From 9 AM to 8 PM CDT Saturday. * WINDS...North 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 31 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Up to 73. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly.
